The Church Leaders

Please find below a brief introduction to our church leaders, staff members and key volunteers.

D Dickson profile PhotoDavid Dickson - Senior Minister

David joined New Life as its Senior Minister in April 2019.  Since he completed his Masters degree in the mid 1990’s, David has gained a wealth of experience in leadership, teaching, and church life in general.  He is passionate about effective church leadership and mission work in all its forms, from practical work in the local community through to reaching out internationally.  David has a focus to mobilise people to step into their calling. Over the years he has travelled widely, to teach, preach and to coordinate leadership development and practical aid in the UK and overseas. He founded Charis Ministries, a UK based reaching out to equip and empower people to fulfil their calling.

For his leisure time he loves nothing better than reading a good book, watching movies or dining out with his wife Beverley.  As well, for physical activity he is enthusiastic about getting into the gym and (attempting) to play golf. David and Beverley have been married since 1990 and they have two adults sons: Nathan and Gareth.

We also have a team working together to serve the community including:
  • Ian Tapp - Elder
  • David Eaton - Elder
  • Winnie Nzomo - Administrator
  • Liz Tapp - Pastoral Care
  • Kerry Murray - Community Pastor
  • Amelia Singh - Worship Team Leader

Planning your Visit

A Warm Welcome

Where and When

We meet in person at 10.30am and online through Youtube from around 11am when we stream the teaching. Normally, for your first visit, we have recommended arriving 10-15 minutes early to ensure you get a parking space and find somewhere to sit before the service begins. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team and given a Welcome Pack with information about New Life.

We normally serve tea, coffee and biscuits from at the end of the service as it's a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings.

Plan your journey:

Open Google Maps

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets in the main foyer.

Our Service

Normally our service begins with a warm welcome from one of our team members and then lots of engaging activities during the next 1 hour or so that the service lasts.

We often have lots of engagement and involvement from all ages in the church and all our different cultures. Sometimes a person might pray out loud or read a small passage from the bible and one of our leaders will then give a message that is based on the bible and one that we can apply to our everyday life.

What about my kids?

Usually we have involve all the church family in an interactive programme often led by Community Pastor, Kerry Murray who can be contacted by mobile on 07810 120896 or on the church office number 01293 512574 or by email kids@newlifecrawley.church

During the times on Sundays their will be a suitable activity pack and also on occasions the children leave the main building to do activities such as play games, do crafts, sing songs and learn about Jesus. We also have a midweek club for Primary School aged children which runs fortnightly called "Cosmic Comets".

Relevant Children's workers are DBS checked.

We know how hard it can be for you and your kids to be part of a new group, so please do contact us if you have any questions about our children's work.

The kids group activities vary depending on the age but usually there is a friendly welcome, bible stories, testimonies, praying, music, craft, drama, fun games and free play.

Getting Connected

Small Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being part of one of our small groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week, some afternoons and some evenings. Check out Small Groups and see if there’s one that you could join, or we can put you in touch with a small group leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group.

Serving and Volunteering

If you want to get involved in the life of the church and help us make Sundays run smoothly, you can sign up to serve on a team. We are also very supportive of our local community by working alongside other agencies and projects in order to express the love of God in a practical way across the area.

Other Ministries

We also run the following ministries:

  • Men's Ministries
  • Women's Ministries
  • Wellbeing Group
  • Schools Work
  • Be Connected Support Group
  • Regular training events on current issues
